If you are not having great results in your business maybe you are having troubles with staying consistent.
To stay consistent you need to focus on 1 specific thing.
A daily routine is important but not so many people can keep it. There are going to be things that will interrupt the daily routine all the time. Your kids will get sick, you will not have light in the house, your car will get broken etc. There can be millions of examples of things that could interrupt the daily routine. I am not saying that you shouldn’t have one. You should do all you can to keep the daily routine, but it doesn’t make you being more consistent.
Action plans are great as well because you can see and prepare for things you need to do. The biggest problem is that you need to have the energy to take action and most of the people who are not successful yet do not have that energy, motivation or even a will to do some steps toward the goal.
If you are an entrepreneur you probably know that it’s exciting to make an action plan. You can see the goal and you can find a way to get there. Somehow, after creating an action plan suddenly don’t have enough energy to take that action or you find an excuse and you focus on something else.
Maybe this didn’t happen to you, but it’s a common thing. The reason of this the feeling of “accomplishment“. When I created an action plan and it looked really great I felt accomplished. I was telling myself that I did a great job writing this action plan. In most cases, I was deciding to take action the next day. Because I had to take a break after doing my efforts with creating the action plan (stupid). Guess what! The “tomorrow” never came. Before I took any step toward my goals with that action plan I found a bunch of excuses and other things to do.
Distractions can prevent you from being consistent. I couldn’t focus and everything was preventing me. I was working in a room where my kids were watching tv, the living room was connected to the kitchen so my wife cooking was getting me distracted as well. An Even neighbor who was using a vacuum cleaner was distracting me.
The results of me not being able to focus led my business to fail. Of course, all the distractions were only excuses and I supposed to not let all the things to distract me, but at that time my mindset wasn’t right.
There was 1 thing I was missing for all the years. One thing that could stop me from thinking about all the distractions and could help me be more consistent. It wasn’t the daily routine, action plan, no money in the bank account or debt collectors coming after me. Those things couldn’t make me be more consistent. The vision was.
I missed the vision building process. I knew what I wanted but knowing what you want and having a strong vision is a different thing. To be consistent vision is necessary because if you have a strong vision of the future magically all the distractions disappear.
I love what Dwayne Johnson back in 1995 said: “$7 bucks in my pocket. I knew two things: I’m broke as hell and one day I won’t be“. At that time he already had a strong vision because he didn’t have any doubt about his future.
A Strong vision helps you be more consistent but also destroys doubts and worries. During your entrepreneurial journey, a lot of obstacles will try to stop you. I call it “The Dark Clouds“. If you build a strong and bright vision you will be pulled through those dark clouds and you will be able to reach your dreams.
A quick tip for creating a strong vision. Instead of only thinking about something, imagine like you have it already. Know every small detail about the object or a situation that you are focusing on. Imagine the feelings you have when you get to that dream. If you keep repeating it every single day, you will become more consistent because all you would want is to reach that dream and there will be nothing that stops you.
