Being An Entrepreneur is not always easy or comfortable. Your goals are worth the work, but being an Entrepreneur is an emotional rollercoaster.
If someone tells you that being an entrepreneur is easy or there are no problems, don’t believe it. I am not here to lie to you and make you believe that being an entrepreneur is an easy thing. If you expect to read only beautiful and positive things, it would be better to close this blog. Open the YouTube and watch some pranks. At least you will relax and laugh.
Let me put it this way. Even if you are not an entrepreneur you are still struggling with some things. It could be money, time, friends, family, debt etc. So if you decide not to become an entrepreneur doesn’t mean that you will not have problems and struggles.
The difference between an entrepreneur and an employee is that entrepreneurs have no limits when it comes to income and time freedom.
It’s not a guarantee that you will succeed. But if you are an entrepreneur at least you have a chance to make your income higher. Employees have to ask The Boss for more money or to have a day off. It’s still possible to succeed as an employee but there will be always someone above you. There will be someone that can say “your story of the #1 employee ends today“.
So becoming and entrepreneur is like opening a door for yourself for a brighter future. Just to make it clear, it’s not guaranteed that your future will be brighter but it’s possible.
It’s actually very easy. Entrepreneurs believe that they control their lives, other people believe that the life happens to them. So basically saying, entrepreneurs don’t want someone to tell them what to do and I am not talking about mentoring, coaching, learning etc. Because every entrepreneur has they team of advisors. What I mean is that entrepreneurs don’t want a boss, they don’t want to build someone’s dreams by coming to work 9 to 5 every single day. They prefer to build their own dreams while helping others do the same.
Well, you quit your job and start a business, right? No, I’m just kidding. Don’t do it because there is a too high risk that you will fail. Currently working for somebody doesn’t mean that you are not an entrepreneur. Being an Entrepreneur is not only about all the material things like having own business, having an own office, driving the nice car etc. Being an entrepreneur is more about your state of mind. You can work for somebody and have an entrepreneurial mindset. If you are constantly coming up with some business ideas even if you realize later that the previous idea sucked, maybe you are an entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurs constantly think how to improve something to get better results, they see an opportunity where other people don’t see it. So if you are looking for an answer to “how to become an entrepreneur” maybe first you should check your current mindset. Maybe you are an entrepreneur already and you are wasting your time by looking for an answer which you already have.
There can be many things that entrepreneurs struggle with but the biggest problem is their mindset. Being an entrepreneur is not always comfortable because you need to learn new things and you need to get rid of the crap from your past, which is the hardest job to do.
Many people were born in not so successful homes, many people were born in a house where was a lot of problems. And no matter how positive you are today, you still have some bad experiences, some heavy stones attached to you from your past. This stops you and makes you feel that you can’t succeed.
The area of money, success, relationships, winning, losing, achieving etc. are very important and we learn those usually when we are small kids. The problem is that most of us learn those things from people who are not wealthy, who are not happy and from those who complain all day long instead of doing something to change the lifestyle.
Now, if you were born in a house where your mother constantly was saying that Successful people are bad, rich people are evil and that it’s not easy to earn money. What do you expect from yourself? Maybe your conscious mind says “you can do it“, “I will succeed“. But your subconscious mind will get the crap from your past and throw it on your face. This is the uncomfortable part of being an entrepreneur, you need to change your habits, you need to change the way of thinking about money, successful people and anything else that you have a bad image about. The biggest Obstacle and the most uncomfortable thing is dealing with your fears.
Fear is just a protective mechanism. Its job is to protect you from a danger situation and it would work perfectly if we learn it by ourselves. Unfortunately, almost all people were taught what to be afraid of. We all have fears, but 70% of your fears are just copied fears from your parents, friends etc. But now, we are an adult we don’t have to subconsciously copy someone’s fears which are great. The problem is that the fears we learned in the past became a part of us. You just see it as “I am scared” that’s all.
If you are willing to become an entrepreneur, you will need to learn how to overcome your fears. Because if there is an uncomfortable situation in front of you and you decide to run away , guess what you won’t get to anywhere. You won’t be able to succeed if you constantly run from your fears, you want to be able to achieve that goal if you want to stay in the comfort zone.
Here are some suggestions you can use to deal with your fears:
1. 5-second rule. Decide things you know you should be doing in 5 sec. So when you think that you should go to that person about your business start walking toward that person NOW! Why is this important? Because after 5 sec. your mind will puke on you with the bunch of excuses. It doesn’t matter that you have to walk 100m to get close to that person, of course, you can’t make it in 5 sec. but the key here is action. If you think of something and you take action in 5 sec. or less you will imitate your mind from telling you all the excuses. Then your mind will try to find an answer to “What should I say” or “How to introduce myself”. The 5-second rule is a key to change your mind from excuses maker to a solution provider.
2. Focus on vision and face your fears. When there is an uncomfortable situation in front of you. When there is something that you know you need to do but you are scared to do it, focus on your vision. Just think of the results if you could make it if you could succeed. How your life would look like when you look at your bank account and you will know that you don’t have to be worried about tomorrow. You might sweat, maybe tears will come up, maybe you will be shaking when you attempt to do something that you are scared of. But you know what? It’s only the first 2-3 times. Because if your keep doing the same thing over and over again you won’t be scared of it anymore.
3. Use The Fear As A Motivation. This very simple. What is scarier for you: Speaking from the stage in front of 500 people or knowing that if you don’t you will lose your house, family and maybe life? Yeah exactly. Use the fear of the worth scenario to push you through the current fear.
As being an entrepreneur, you will have to face many uncomfortable situations. What I want you to know is that each time you get uncomfortable, each time you face your fears and each time you change your bad habit you are growing. You are becoming better than you were yesterday and that my friend will lead you to the success.
Be Great! Be Unstoppable!
