If you want to become better at what you do you just have to keep doing it because if you don’t then you will never get better. This works in any area of your life, jobs, relationships, business, sports.
When you are doing something and that thing is not good YET probably you will get some negative comments like, “You suck at it”, “Hey people look at this man / woman. That’s so embarrassing”, “He/she is not good at….. because…… If I was him/her I wouldn’t do it again”.
Just curious how would you react to these comments? Would you get upset and Quit Again or would you learn something from that comments?
In the past negative comments and opinions used to stop me, believe me, that wasted my time so much. Currently, when I get some bad opinion I try to learn from it if it’s possible. By hearing someone’s opinion you can become better at what you do. Just think this way:
When you do something new probably you get confident that you are great at what you are doing. You might be good at something but there is always something that can be improved. So if you don’t hear different opinions you will be doing same mistakes over and over again thinking that you are doing extremely great!
Maybe you can shift the thinking and start to WISH for some naughty and negative comments to make sure you learn and become better.
(You can read about negative and toxic people here)
If you are already doing something for a long time but you get crappy results it’s time to realize that you are doing something wrong or something not enough. Now, your job is to find what it is. You can always get help from other people and request their opinion but if you do something long enough to get great results but you don’t get those results find what’s wrong or you are going to waste a lot of your precious time.
Sometimes you realize that you should be doing something but you don’t feel comfortable doing it or you know for sure that you are bad at it. If that’s the case then you need to take massive action in order to become better. Like the videos I record for my blog, there are a couple of reasons why I am recording it. First of all, I want to provide value to those that are looking for answers, secondly, I want to get better at it. I used to refuse to make videos because of some ridiculous excuses, but providing value through a video is the best way to connect with your audience and answer their questions.
Conclusion. If you want to become better at what you do, keep doing it and learn what doesn’t work or what you can improve. If it’s hard for you to recognize the mistakes you make ask somebody to give you an opinion. If you don’t quit and you are committed to improving every day you are going to become better at what you do.
Have a great day!
