Are you struggling during your Journey to Success and you want to know how to deal with frustration? You need to know what is the trigger of your frustration.
In my journey to success, there were a lot of times when I wanted to give up. The heavy stone of frustration sitting on my shoulders was not letting me be focused and it pushing me to the ground. In the entrepreneurial journey, all the negative feelings like anger, sadness, irritation, fear, doubt frustration are the dream killers. In today’s post, I will share with you thoughts about the negative emotions during the journey to success. Will also share some tips to help you know how to deal with frustration.
Mothers, kids, fathers, employees, teachers, martial arts fighters, car racers and Entrepreneurs have emotions. No matter how tough someone looks or acts everybody has emotions. Many people think that successful entrepreneurs don’t have fears, doubts, and any negative emotions. They just go toward their goals and they don’t care about anybody or anything around them. Well, I used to think this way and since I am not much different than other people I can bet that there are thousands of people thinking this way. Anyway, emotions are very important in our life because without them we would be cold heart zombies. But there is a difference between the emotions that serves us like love and emotions and emotions that prevent us from reaching goals like frustration.
Success is a journey and during that journey, a lot of unexpected things will happen. Things you can’t even imagine right now. So to know how to deal with the frustration you need to know how the successful entrepreneurs developed their winning mindset.
Being overwhelmed and frustrated when you are working on building your dream seems a common thing. But did you know that most of the entrepreneurs who keep those feelings inside them quit their business in the first 3 years? Just to mention, success doesn’t happen overnight. Usually, it’s a journey that takes years, of preparation and years of learning by the own mistakes. What people see is just a 20% of your whole journey.
You need to find the root of your frustration. You might thing that you are frustrated because you don’t have good results or because something doesn’t work the way you want it to work. Yes, those are the common triggers of irritation and frustration but it might not be the root of it.
Look at your life, at your environment and at the people around you. Is everything the way it should be? Do you like in a place you always wanted to live? If you have kids, do they listen to everything you tell them? If you are an employee, does your Boss is the best boss in the world?
Many people will answer “No” to every question above. You see, the frustration on your journey to success might not be coming from the journey itself. The frustration triggers could be anything outside your journey. But since we are emotional creatures we bring the negative emotions from the “Outside” to everywhere we go. Instead of asking “How to deal with frustration” you should ask “Why I am so frustrated?“. Most of the people feel tired, frustrated, overwhelmed but they don’t know why. This is a bad circle because when you don’t know why you are irritated you can’t calm down, and since you can’t calm down and you don’t the reason for the irritation you become more irritated. You become a ticking bomb of negativity and when your minds can’t handle it anymore you start to put those feelings on people and things that did nothing to you.
The only way to stop being frustrated on your journey to success is to find the real root of frustration. If that has nothing to do with your journey, then you need to learn how to disconnect the Dream Building World and the Everyday “Gray World”. Because the purpose of working on your dream is to change your life, you don’t want to stay where you are, right?
Entrepreneurs who succeed or those who are very close to succeeding developed a winning mindset. They set a goal and build a strong vision that helped them go through all the doubts and discomfort. It doesn’t mean that they are not emotional. It doesn’t mean that they didn’t feel frustrated or sad when things didn’t work out. But their winning mindset didn’t let them quit on their dreams. That’s why they succeed. To develop a winning mindset you just need to answer 2 questions. But you can’t answer those just like that in 2 sec. You need to sit in a quiet place and answer those 2 questions. If you are not getting emotional by answering the questions, it means your answer is not what your heart is saying and you need to go deeper with your thoughts.
Once you get to the real and true answer, your heart will start to beat faster, you might sweat and you might even cry. This is the level you should reach by answering the 2 questions below. You will be surprised how simple it is to develop the Winning Mindset.
[sociallocker id=”8035″]The first question is: What Do I Want?
It’s a very simple question but most of the people don’t really know what they want. Most of the people are trying different things, doing one business after another without knowing what they really want. Yes, everybody want’s money but this is not deep enough reason. It’s not about the money, but what you can get with that money. So you need to be specific with what you want.
The second question is: Why Do I Want It?
This is a part that you need to get deep with your thoughts. Deep enough to get emotional. It’s ok for you to cry. If you are a guy, don’t get stuck with the thoughts that “Boys don’t cry” because it’s the stupidest saying ever. Think about your reasons, whatever it is you want to have or achieve you need to know deeply why you want it. Because it’s a different thing knowing what you want and it’s a different thing knowing why you want it.
Knowing what you want makes you feel happy, motivated and energetic.
Knowing why you want something makes you emotional, it brings all the bad memories and makes you feel inspired because you don’t want that life anymore. [/sociallocker]
Spend as much time as you need to answer those 2 questions. It’s very important to answer those question on the deep level of thoughts because once you can get the answers no one will be able to stop you until you succeed. You will no longer be an Entrepreneur, you will become The Unstoppable Entrepreneur. This is what I call the “Winning Mindset“. Once you have the answers, the fear, irritation, and frustration disappear and you will be on the right path to the success.
