Cold Market Prospecting could grow your team fast, but most of the people don’t want to do Cold Market Prospecting because they are afraid of the rejection. Read this post to learn how you can have Less Rejection when you prospect cold market.
Here are few things you need to understand about cold market prospecting online and offline. When you talk to strangers they don’t know your background, they have no idea that you failed before or not so don’t be so stressed when you try to talk to someone who you don’t know about your business.
Unfortunately, people can feel that you are nervous so they will feel suspicious. Calm down and try to reach that person out asking for time, a way to go etc.
The leader. What if you don’t prospect that person because you are so afraid and someone else will sign them up to their team. What if that person is a leader type and can bring a huge team to your organization. Let ma ask you this If you were sure that a person who you are about to approach was the leader who will build a million dollar business will you refuse to prospect him or her?
Here are steps you need to take to get less rejection:
1. Calm Down
2. Think about the possibilities
3. See greatness in people
4. Use BIC
As I mentioned before, people are more sensitive to other people’s feelings than you think. If you will calm down it will be easier for both of you to have a conversation. I know that it might sound easy but in real it’s not easy but think a little bit, what is the worse thing could happen? Well, someone might say “NO“, so what? NEXT! Someone might say that you are stupid. So what? it’s just their opinion and it doesn’t mean it’s truth. Someone might you punch in the face (almost impossible). So what? Think that this person had a bad day and go find a person who is in Good MOOD. As you can see the worse scenario is that someone will punch, but what if that person is a leader? Are you willing to get 5 punches on the face to find a person who makes you a million dollar? By the way, this is really almost impossible scenario unless you prospect drunk guy who is sitting on the street ;)
Think about the possibilities. What if that person was a leader? What if that person joins your team and then hires you as a coach and that’s because he/she has a lot of friends you will build your network marketing business and you will build a coaching business if you want to? By 1 person your life could change a lot. instead of fearing the almost impossible scenario think about the possibilities. You have no idea who that person is and you don’t know their connections. So when you are about to prospect someones think about the possibilities.
Many people are negative and they can see only darkness…What if we look at people and see greatness in them?
Instead of judging people see the possibilities. Imagine what’s possible for them, what they can do with your great opportunity and maybe because you approached them their life could change. See greatness in people!
Use BIC. BIC stands for “Break in communication” and this method is very powerful because it stops your prospects from asking you questions. Your approach should start from phrases like:
– Hey, how are you doing? I see you are doing a great job at…. Listen I need to run to a meeting……
– Thank you for your help! I see you have an amazing attitude, I need to run to son’st soccer game but…..
– Hello, do you know what time is it? Awesome, thank you. I sensed that you are entrepreneur I gotta jump on the phone call but…..
BIC is basically letting your prospects know that you are in a rush and you don’t have time to answer their all questions.
After using those phrases just ask if they are OPEN to a business and if they say “YES” then say: Cool, well I need to really run. Can you give me your name and email/phone # so I will call you tomorrow or a day after so we can talk about details?
Believe me or not but there are only a few people that will say “NO” to give you their contact info.
If you use this kind of approach you will get Less Rejection.
