Many people don’t like to prospect strangers on the streets for their network marketing company, they don’t feel comfortable and they prefer to not to do it. However if you want to grow your network marketing company it’s necessary that you present your product or business opportunity to more people. Those who refuse to prospect cold market on the streets or in the shopping mall jump into social media believing it will be easier for them to reach out to people tho they don’t know on Facebook, Linkedin or Twitter.
Yes. It’s much easier because you don’t have to feel that awkward moments when you talk to stranger’s face to face and you have millions of people to talk to about your business opportunity BUT it doesn’t mean that you will start to recruit like crazy that’s because you have access to millions of people and you don’t have that fear when chatting with people on social media.
First mistake network marketing recruiters make on social media is the lack of patience. Prospecting on social media it’s different from prospecting strangers on the street. On social media, it takes a little bit more time before you ask to check your business opportunity. You have to start building a connection with your prospect before you even start talking about your business or products.
The second mistake is that recruiters on social media don’t focus on Personal Branding or Social Media Branding. They don’t care much how they profile looks like having spammy and full of hype images on their covers and posts.
Branding on social media is very important because it presents who you are. If you talk to somebody who has pet parrot as their profile photo and on their cover image you can find text “talk to me to earn $3K Online NOW!” and that person will start to talk to you about business will you think that this person is serious? I wouldn’t.
1. First of all, you should look at your profile photo. If you want to present yourself as a professional you should have smiling postured photo as your profile photo.
2. The cover image is very important as well. On your personal profile, you can have a nice looking cover image of you and your family or a photo from your vacation etc. What you shouldn’t have is a photo that looks like a photo from the Friday night’s party.
3. Cover photo on your business page. You are doing a business using social media so your business page should have clean and professional cover image. You can go to Fiverr to hire someone to design your professional image or reach out to me and my team can design it for you. The point is to present yourself as a professional.
4. Posting. You should attract people to you and show people that you are not just trying to promote your business. You can post your business and you should but you need to use 20/80 rule. Where 80% of your posts should be personal and attractive and 20% should be about your business. When people see that you are all about promoting your business they simply won’t be interested in you at all.
